Ignite Training has broadened its partnership base by teaming up with sports coaching provider Elite Youth Sports and delivering the training arm of its apprenticeships.
Based in Didcot in Oxfordshire, Elite Youth Sports will operate Ignite’s Level 4 Sports Coaching apprenticeship within its team to teach apprentices the skills and knowledge required to work in school or community sports coaching roles.
The 18-month programme supports learners in improving all areas of their coaching practice including developing their own philosophy, implementing effective coaching and promoting holistic wellbeing within programmes.
Elite Youth Sports is committed to providing full-time roles to those who excel on the course upon completion, with previous apprentices it has worked with staying on as permanent members of staff.
Jennifer Brooks, general manager at Elite Youth Sports, said providing apprenticeships means the company benefits from time invested into training apprentices long after their education has ended.
“Working with apprentices is of immense value to our business,” said Jennifer. “It’s cost-effective for us, but more importantly means we are able to mould learners into the types of employees we’re looking for.
“Taking raw talent and turning learners into top quality sports coaches is fantastic for us, and it’s great to facilitate people’s career progression.
“We all share a passion for sport and love passing this onto the children and young people we work with. Working with apprentices has made everything in our business easier, and we’re looking forward to partnering with Ignite to keep driving that process forward.”
Elite Youth Sports has partnered with Ignite thanks to its commitment to in-person and remote education which it guarantees to all organisations it works with.
The company is the latest to invest in apprenticeships with Ignite Training this year, with others including Norwich City FC, Notts County, Bristol Bears, King’s Lynn Town FC, Birmingham City FC and Solihull Moors.
Sorcha Murphy, business development manager at Ignite Training, is looking forward to working with Elite and expanding Ignite’s portfolio.
“It’s always great to connect with new businesses and support them in reaching their goals,” said Sorcha.
“We’re pleased to partner with Elite Youth Sports and their talented team of apprentices who share our enthusiasm for sport and personal progression.”
